Protect yourselves from the current heatwave at St. John's tomorrow, where in the cool and calm interior, a celebration of 200 years, remembering the man who first picked up the ball at Rugby school, creating the game of rugby, will be held. William Webb Ellis, in his latter years attended St John's and lies buried in the cemetery of the Old Chateau, in Menton.
In Commemoration, teachers and pupils from Rugby School are doing a sponsored cycle ride, arriving in Menton today.
They will be at St John's tomorrow. Rev, Chris Parkman, will talk to the headmaster of Rugby School and one of the group will do a reading, after which Rev. Chris will chat with Rugby School's chaplain, on both their sponsored cycle ride and rugby in general. Maybe a glass of wine after the service.
