We have finally received an official mail from the mairie, concerning security arrangements at the LOUVRE. Until now, we only had word from the concierge, resulting in locked doors one Wednesday and open doors another, which has been confusing to say the least.

It now appears that operation “VIGIPIRATE”will be enforced by the government until after the Paris Olympics.

Entrance and exit  will again be through  the emergency exit door to your left, as you enter. If at all possible, it would be helpful for members to arrive at in time for 10:30 am, so that we can avoid having to open up every few minutes. The same applies to members taking French lessons. Please be there on time.

Please also note that tas the Louvre is run by the Mairie it is closed on Bank Holidays.
